Pringle Grabs Round 12 MVP
Safsal ,01/28/2009
Ramat Hen's center grabbed many rebounds on her way to picking up round MVP for round 12. She is joined on the 1st team by one teammate, Edwina Brown with her incredible stat line, and two Natanya players.
In 'After Shock', Safsal takes a hard look at the tree Tel Avivians, wonders what Raanana Hertzeliya should do and checks out the offensive record book.

Round 12 MVP – LaToya Pringle
Terrific game for Ramat Hen's post with 27 points and 20 rebounds. She had a double double by half time and did not slow down one bit in the 2nd half. Defensively Pringle frustrated Kelly Shumacher, and offensively she shot nearly 65% from the floor in Ramat Hen's important win over Raanana Hertzeliya.

Round 12 First Team
Natasha Brackett - Natanya is one foreigner short since coming back from the holiday break, and so far Brackett has been picking up the slack. Against Ashdod she scored 25 points and added 8 rebounds in 37 minutes.

Edwina Brown - Yes, Bnei Yehuda was a foreigner short but this kind of stat line we don't recall seeing. So how do you 62 efficiency points? 37 points with one missed shot, 11 assists, 9 rebounds and 6 steals in 37 minutes.

Tamara Ransburg - Had one of her best games of the season in Natanya's impressive win over Ashdod, with 24 points and 13 rebounds.

Tamara James - 22 points on good shooting for Ramat Hen's forward who was consistent all game long in Ramat Hen's win.

LaToya Pringle - 20 rebounds for Pringle. 20 rebounds for Raanana Hertzeliya. Enough said.

After Shock

96 Points
That's the total sum of points by which the three Tel Aviv based teams lost this round. Hapoel Tel Aviv by 39, Tel Kabir by 38 and Bnei Yehuda by 19. Bnei Yehuda's situation is going to improve with the signing of Tyresa Smith, but it won't change the fact that the 3 Tel Avivians are dead last in the standings. They have four wins combined. A team's record is usually derived by its budget, and the city of Tel Aviv just doesn't seem to care.

Sheri or Kelly
In each of Raanana Hertzeliya's last 2 games, with Sheri Sam in place of Charde Houston who's supposed to be good to go by Monday, Raanana Hertzeliya scored 68 points. Once it was enough for a tight win, and once it resulted in a 20-point loss. Now Raanana Hertzeliya is supposed to release Sam, who was signed for one month. Sam scored 19.5 points (60% 2pt, 40% 3pt) per game, got to the line 5 times a game and added 8 rebounds a game. Kelly Shumacher on the other end averaged 8.5 points on 37.5% from the field and 7 boards per game. Is it worth keeping Sam over Shumacher and trusting Katia Abramzon to be the inside presence next to Houston? Even though Shumacher and Houston functioned well together and gave match-up problems for single-post teams? It will be interesting to see if Raanana Hertzeliya sticks to their original plan.

Record breakers
When Ramat Hasharon sets a team record for points or assists, it's also a league record. Electra dropped 122 points on Tel Kabir, and used no less than 36 assists to get there. A quick look at our stats archive shots that in the last 5 seasons (at least), no team reached 36 assists in a single game and the 2nd & 3rd spots on the assists list also belong to Ramat Hasharon. 122 points are also a league record in the last 5 years (at least), Ramat Hasharon improved it's own record and now holds the top 4 spots on the list.
