The first round of the women's league was completed tonight and five teams are tied for 1st place with a 7-2 record. The main responsible for that is Ashdod who won in Ramat Hen 77-76, after losing a 15-point lead. Elsewhere Raanana Hertzeliya beat Natanya, Ramat Hasharon struggled against Holon, Hapoel beat Tel Kabir and Ramla blew out Bnei Yehuda.

There's no question Ashdod would have signed on a 1-point win in Ramat Hen if asked before the game. Now it seems like they should have won by a lot more but it really doesn’t matter that much. Ramat Hen came back from 15-points down in the game including 10 in the 4th to lose in the final second, on a no-call by the refs. Ashdod got a great game from Sherill Baker and the Israelis and left with a smile after the club's 1st ever win in Ramat Hen.
